How it actually works
Instead of trying to heat the whole room, these lamps send short-wave or medium-wave radiation straight into the glass. It’s a direct hit. The result? Your glass heats up way faster. You get a temperature that’s consistent across the whole piece, and because you aren’t fighting to keep a massive volume of air hot, your electricity bill actually starts to look reasonable.
The nitty-gritty on the gear
We make these lamps out of high-purity quartz. Why? Because they need to handle extreme thermal shock without cracking. Inside, there’s a tungsten filament wound just right to hit the exact wattage your specific oven needs. One thing to watch out for: power. Depending on your grid, we’ll spec the voltage for you. If you’re going for high-wattage tubes, you get a ton of heat, but you’ve got to make sure your wiring and control panels can handle the draw. You don’t want to fry your contacts. To make life easier, we use standard connectors, so you can usually just swap these into your current setup without a headache.
Real-world talk
The best part is the lack of “lag.” With traditional ovens, you’re always waiting for the temperature to catch up. With infrared, you can ramp things up or down almost instantly. It makes the whole workflow feel snappier. But, a word of caution: quartz is fragile. If your team is a bit rough during maintenance, or if the lamps get covered in grime, they won’t last nearly as long. You need a clean environment and mounts that don’t shake, otherwise, those filaments will snap. And for heaven’s sake, watch your spacing. If the lamp is too close to the glass, you’ll end up with “hot spots” that can ruin a piece. Give it some breathing room.
