How we actually get to 5,000 hours
Most IR tubes fail because the tungsten evaporates or the quartz just gives up. To fix this, we use a specific halogen cycle. Think of it as a recycling system that puts the evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. It keeps the internal pressure steady and stops the wire from thinning out too fast. By getting the gas mix and quartz purity just right, we can push the lifespan way further. The best part? The heat doesn’t just plummet. You get a much flatter decay curve. Instead of a sudden drop in power after 2,000 hours, these lamps keep a steady flow of heat. You won’t find yourself constantly fiddling with your PID controllers just to keep up with an aging lamp.
Making them work in your shop
These are designed as drop-in replacements. We obsessed over the length and the connectors so you aren’t fighting with wiring or forcing things into place during a change-out. It just fits. But here is the catch: you have to watch your voltage. If you try to “cheat” the system by cranking up the voltage to get more heat out of an old lamp, you’ll fry the filament. It’ll kill the remaining life of the bulb instantly. Keep your power supply stable, and the lamps will take care of you.
Getting more out of your setup
We do more than just ship tubes in a box. We like to look at your actual machine footprint. A lot of times, the way lamps are laid out wastes a ton of energy or leaves “cold spots” on the fabric. We can help you pick the right wavelength, too. Shortwave is great if you need fast surface heating. Medium-wave is the way to go for those heavy fabrics that need heat to soak in deep. It’s a simple tweak that can seriously cut your energy bill.
